Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides

These specially-formulated products are an ideal way to tackle ageing concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and skin laxity, while they can also improve skin conditions such as acne scarring and rosacea. If you’re looking for an effective way to enhance your skin quality, polynucleotide treatment is a great option.

Polynucleotides are highly-purified DNA molecules which, when injected into the skin, stimulates cells to produce more collagen and treat skin damage. As a result, you’ll have noticeably firmer, brighter, smoother skin!

Polynucleotides can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles, dull skin, poor tone and texture, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, and acne scarring. Polynucleotides are also very effective for hair conditions such as dry and itchy scalp as well as treating thinning hair.

Different products are available so we can tailor treatment to your individual needs.

How does it work

Polynucleotides are highly-purified DNA molecules extracted from fish. When we inject them into the skin, they reach the cells called fibroblasts. These cells are responsible for the formation of connective tissue through their ability to produce collagen, which helps maintain skin’s firm structure.

As we age, collagen production declines, which is why our skin gets saggy and more wrinkled. Polynucleotides have the ability to stimulate the fibroblasts to produce more collagen, leading to firmer, smoother skin.

Benefits:

  • Skin Regeneration: Polynucleotides stimulate cell growth and proliferation, enhancing collagen and elastin production, which are necessary for skin elasticity, firmness, and lift.
  • Wrinkle Reduction: They aid in reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin texture and smoothness by promoting the formation of new skin cells and enhancing overall skin health.
  • Hydration: They exhibit hydrating properties and improve the skin’s ability to retain water, promoting healthier and more supple skin.
  • Anti-inflammatory Effect: They can soothe and calm skin, reducing redness, irritation, and inflammation caused by various skin conditions, including acne, eczema, hyperpigmentation, and rosacea.
  • Suitable for Various Skin Concerns: Polynucleotides can be a potential treatment for individuals with fine lines, wrinkles, loss of elasticity, red and sensitive skin, rosacea, and scarring.
  • Versatility: They are effective in treating loss of elasticity in the face and neck, crepey or saggy neck, under-eye darkness, and are also useful for treating various areas like the face, neck, décolletage, upper arms, and conditions like acne, stretch marks, and scars.
  • Safety and Tolerance: Polynucleotides have an excellent safety record and are highly tolerated.
  • Quick and Lasting Results: Results can be seen as early as 20 days post-treatment, and the benefits have good longevity.
  • Cellular Turnover and Healing: They promote cell turnover, improve skin elasticity and hydration, and help heal sun-damaged skin, photoaging, and scars.

Polynucleotides are a range of injectable products designed to regenerate skin from within. They contain polynucleotides, which are clinically-proven to stimulate collagen production and improve elasticity as well as hydration.

Before you undergo treatment with Polynucleotides, your practitioner will cleanse the skin to remove any dirt and debris. They may then apply a numbing cream or cool compress to reduce pain before administering multiple injections across the treatment area.

For best results, we advise three to four treatments spaced three weeks apart. For hair treatment, 8 to 10 sessions are recommended.

Following treatment with polynucleotides you can expect your skin to be firmer, smoother and more radiant. You’ll notice a more even skin tone that looks younger and fresher!

It takes time for the collagen to get to work, so you can expect to see initial results three weeks after your first treatment. Best results will be noticeable after you’ve completed your course of treatments and will last six to nine months.

As with any injection, you can expect your skin to be slightly red and swollen immediately after the procedure. You may experience pin-prick bleeding and some itchiness, but it’s important to avoid touching the treated area for at least 12 hours.

No, but the treatment is usually performed under numbing cream.

Following treatment with you can expect your skin to be firmer, smoother and more radiant. You’ll notice a more even skin tone that looks younger and fresher!

This depends on how your under eye looks and what you wish to treat. If your concern is hollows only and you are not prone to puffiness (eye bags) under eyes then tear trough filler is the best option.

If you are concerned with fine lines / crepey skin under the eye and / or dark circles or you prone to eye puffiness (eye bags) then Polynucleotides eyes is the best option.

Polynucleotides (PN) is a very thin water-like substance that improves skin quality on a cellular level whereas traditional under eye filler/Tear Trough filler is hyaluronic acid gel which is a much more viscous substance and is used to fill hollows under eyes.

Polynucleotide treatment works with the body’s DNA to promote skin regeneration. This innovative treatment stimulates collagen and elastin production, which are essential proteins for maintaining the skin’s structure and elasticity and works to treat fine lines and dark eye circles.

Tear trough filler can sometimes make the under-eye area appear puffier, as hyaluronic acid attracts water and can migrate. Polynucleotide will not ‘fill’ the under eye area and will not cause puffiness or migration of the product.

Below is a guide to choosing the best treatment for your specific concern:
-More natural-looking results: Polynucleotides gradually improve skin quality, avoiding potential overfilling and a “done” look.
-Better for skin health: Polynucleotides stimulate collagen and elastin production, leading to long-term improvement in skin quality.
-Fewer side effects: Polynucleotides Generally considered less risky than fillers, with minimal downtime and rare allergic reactions.
Suitable for sensitive skin: Polynucleotides may be preferable for those with thin or sensitive skin.
-Under-eye fillers might be a better option for: Significant volume loss: Fillers can effectively address very deep tear troughs and hollowness that polynucleotides wouldn’t.
Immediate results: Fillers offer instant correction for those seeking a quick turnaround.

Ultimately, the best choice for you depends on your individual concerns and desired outcome. Consulting our highly qualified aesthetic specialist is crucial to understand your options and make an informed decision based on your specific needs and goals.

Polynucleotides are created from salmon DNA using a proprietary process. There is an extraction and purification process which ensures the safety and compatibility of the product for use in human skin.

Both Polynucleotide and Profhilo treatments are popular injectable options for skin rejuvenation, but they have key differences in their composition, mechanisms of action, and suitability for different concerns. Both Polynucleotides and Profhilo are skin boosters but are made up of different ingredients and work in different ways:

Polynucleotides are DNA extracts which is a form of “regenerative medicine” it is a water-based substance that stimulates your own body’s collagen and elastin production to create healthier, younger-looking, rejuvenated skin by working on a cellular level. It does not contain hyaluronic acid, so does not draw in water or give much plumping of the skin as profhilo does.

Profhilo is hyaluronic acid which is injected into the skin to give a hydration and plumping but it does not regenerate the skin on a cellular level in the way polynucleotide does. Profhilo is a thicker (more viscous product) which acts like a ‘honey”spreading under the skin and drawing in water so can give a more plumped appearance than Polynucleotides tend to.

Polynucleotides can be used around eyes and on forehead which Profhilo can not be. Both polynucleotides and Profhilo are suitable for use on cheeks, neck, décolletage and stomach.

Both polynucleotides and profhilo require a course (minimum of 2) initial treatments then single treatment top up every 6-9 months.
