Anti-Wrinkle Injections

How do Anti-Wrinkle injections work?

Whilst the face is in motion the lines that appear are known as dynamic wrinkles, however, repeated movement over time forms deeper lines and folds known as static wrinkles.

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables work to prevent the formation of static wrinkles by stopping the signal between the nerve and muscle.

The decreased movement in the muscle places less stress on the skin helping you maintain a fresh and youthful appearance. This treatment is most effective when used as a preventative measure.

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables are made from a purified protein that temporarily causes facial muscles to relax, softening lines and wrinkles and reducing the severity of visible wrinkles.

Individual results may vary. A consultation before the first treatment is required, so please notify us of any health conditions or medical history during this appointment. This information will ensure your individual needs are assessed and that appropriate guidance is given.

Benefits

 Soften & Prevent

You don’t have to have wrinkles to know you don’t want them in your future. While their main purpose is to improve or temporarily remove existing lines, Anti-Wrinkle Injectables can be used as a preventative measure to help soften the expression lines that form when your face moves and put the formation of future lines on pause.

 Shape & Symmetry

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables can do more than just reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles; they can also be used to lift certain parts of the face and balance asymmetrical features.

 Look More Rested

With both age and repetitive muscle movement, lines settle into the face and are visible even at rest. It’s these static, 24/7 lines that can make your face look tired and fatigued. By softening those lines and wrinkles in the skin, your face looks fresher, more youthful, and relaxed.

 Not Just For Wrinkles

Wrinkle Injectables can also be used to treat non-cosmetic areas. Some added benefits of treating targeted muscles can include a reduction in excessive sweating (in areas such as the underarms).

Results are noticeable within a few days, with optimum results becoming apparent at around 2 weeks post-treatment. The treatment can last up to 6 months, after which time a new treatment may be required.

There is no downtime with anti-wrinkle injections, although patients may be advised to stop taking medications such as aspirin prior to the appointment to minimise chances of bruising.

Many patients will describe anti-wrinkle injections as a fairly comfortable treatment. The product is administered using a very fine needle and the treatment area can be numbed using a topical anaesthetic cream, prior to the procedure. Any discomfort is short lived and only usually lasts for the duration of the actual treatment.

Anti-wrinkle injections boast having very little downtime attached and before you leave the clinic your practitioner will ensure you have been given any relevant aftercare instructions. You will need to avoid rubbing / touching the treated area (including applying make-up) for up to 4 hours, post procedure. For up to 24 hours you should avoid strenuous activity and exposing the skin to extremes of heat or cold should also be avoided for up to 1 week.
