Do I need to take a special precautions before and after laser or ipl hair removal treatment?
To ensure as many hair follicles are targeted as possible and achieve permanent hair removal it is also important not to under go any hair removal for at least four weeks before laser hair removal appointment or during the course of treatments. The same rule applies to any sun treatments, as a tan will raise the pigment level in the skin and have a severe effect on the treatments success.
Who can we not treat?
Important information : If you had any sun exposure within 30 days before or after a treatment we will not be able to treat due to the risk of burning, blistering, hypo and hyper pigmentation.

How many treatments do I need?
Hair grows in three different cycles and the permanent hair reduction can only successfully treat hair during its growth stage. Therefore it is often necessary to undergo a course of 6-15 treatments ensuring that you leave at least 4-8 weeks between each session initially, and then only repeat as and when the hair returns.
Hair growth is cyclical, as hair follicles go through resting and growing phases. Only follicles in the growth phase contain hair and are destroyed by the heat. Resting hair follicles need to enter the growth phase before they can be effectively destroyed by laser. That’s why it is necessary to repeat the treatment at intervals until all hair follicles have been through the growth phase. The length and timing of the growth cycles are affected by numerous factors such as body site, hair density, thickness, ethnic origin, hormonal status and age. Clinical studies have confirmed that at least 3-8 treatments are needed (female) and 3-12 (male), the intervals between treatments are typically 1 month. Clients with fair skin and light hair colour or dark skin with dark hair will require more sessions.

Pain free Laser Hair Removal Canterbury
Laser hair removal is the most effective method for achieving permanent reduction. After approximately 6-15 sessions, you can achieve 99% hair reduction. Compare this to a lifetime of shaving or waxing laser hair removal is an investment and more economical in the long run.
Laser is also extremely effective at treating ingrowing hairs. After 2-4 sessions you will notice a significant if not complete removal of ingrowing hairs. The bumps, redness and skin pigmentation (PIH) caused by ingrowing hair will also clear up as leaving the skin healthier and smoother.
Here at the RKE Canterbury Clinic we've got 3 different, pain free hair removal systems to best suit your needs and your budget:
Soprano Ice Platinum featuring trio clustered laser diode technology. The Platinum edition combines 3 laser wavelengths into a single innovative handpiece, simultaneously targeting different tissue depths as well as anatomical structures within the hair follicle. By combining the absorption and penetration levels of three different wavelengths, along with the treatment coverage, comfort and reduced treatment time of the diode laser, Soprano ICE Platinum achieves the safest and most comprehensive hair removal treatment available today.
Super Hair Removal Technology (SHR) – a revolutionary new method for permanent hair removal that is virtually pain and side effect free. In comparison to other slightly dated laser and IPL methods, SHR provides faster, safer and pain free hair reduction treatments.
E-Light combines IPL (Intense Pulse Light) and Radio Frequency. The big advantage of combining IPL and Radiofrequency is it reaches deeper down and does not affect melanin in the skin, so all skin types can be treated, which IPL cannot do alone. This can also target light grey and red hair. Also by using this this latest technology together, it has the bonus of rejuvenating the skin at the same time leaving it softer than normal.
